Known as a Louisville icon when it comes to orthopaedic surgery, and one of our founding surgeons, Dr. David Pomeroy completed his residency training at the University of Cincinnati. He attended fellowship training in hip and knee replacement at the prestigious New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He has extensive expertise in hip and knee replacement as well as complicated revision surgery. Dr. Pomeroy is also an assistant clinical professor at the University of Louisville Department of Orthopaedics.
He is Co-Director of the Arthroplasty Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to clinical research for joint replacements. He received the “Top Doctor” award per The Louisville Magazine in 2005, 2007, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2018 by his peers. He was married to his wife Susan for forty three years and enjoys hunting, gardening and fishing.
‘Never Stop Learning’ captures the essence of founding partner Dr. David Rhoads. His medical career journey began when he attended University of Louisville where he received his bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy. He then went on to further his education and completed medical school at the University of Louisville. Dr. Rhoads completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the renowned Henry Ford Health Systems in Detroit, Michigan. He attended fellowship training in shoulder, hip and knee replacement at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. He has received additional training in hip arthroscopy and hip preservation surgery for femoral acetabular impingement and anterior hip replacement surgery. He is a member of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He received the “Top Doctor” award by The Louisville Magazine in 2015 and 2018. His outside interests include spending time with his wife Shiela and his three children. He enjoys woodworking.
Dr. Dunkin attended the University of Dayton where he graduated with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering. He then attended the University of Louisville School of Medicine. After medical school, he completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati. He also Dunkin completed a one year fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Kentucky.
Ever the sports enthusiast and consummate orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Dunkin provided collegiate level football team coverage for the University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University. He has also provided team coverage for a wide spectrum of collegiate sports. He is currently team physician for Waggener High School.
Dr. Dunkin specializes in sports medicine injuries and treatment of complex knee and shoulder problems in the athlete and non-athlete. This includes advanced techniques in arthroscopic surgery, ligament and cartilage reconstructive surgery, joint replacement, as well as nonsurgical treatment and rehabilitation. He received the “Top Doctor” award by The Louisville Magazine in 2015. Dr. Dunkin is married and enjoys spending time with his children.
Dr. David Rouben is a Louisville native who received his Doctorate of Medicine Degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1977. After completing a general surgical internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX, he continued his specialty training at the Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta, GA, an affiliate of the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Rouben then traveled to both Boston and Toronto to complete fellowships in joint reconstruction and spinal reconstruction respectively.
Dr. Rouben spent an additional nine years teaching at the Georgia Baptist Medical Center before returning home to Louisville in 1992, where he has continued to practice orthopaedic and adult spinal surgery. Dr. Rouben is one of few surgeons in the world to innovate the development of minimally invasive spine surgery. Patients from all over the country seek him out to solve their neck and back problems. He also lectures and teaches new surgical techniques across the globe, helping both patients and other physicians to provide optimal outcomes.
He is dedicated to helping patients regain a pain free life. As an established member of the medical community, Dr. Rouben has been practicing medicine for over 40 years. He has hospital privileges at Norton Downtown, Advanced Regional Surgical, Clark Memorial, and Physicians’ Medical center. He is a member of the Greater Louisville Medical Society and is licensed to practice in both Kentucky and Indiana.
Dr. Keller completed his adult reconstruction fellowship training at the prestigious Northwestern University McGraw Medical Center. He did his residency at the University Of Cincinnati Department Of Orthopaedic Surgery where he was voted Outstanding Chief Resident. Dr. Keller received his Medical Doctorate with Distinction from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology from the University of Kentucky where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Keller also was awarded the University of Kentucky’s Presidential Scholarship and the Vogt Achievement Scholarship.
His professional memberships include: International Congress for Joint Reconstruction, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, Kentucky Medical Association, American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, and the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Keller enjoys classic cars and antique wooden boat restoration. He is also an offshore competitive sailboat racing champion. In his ‘spare’ time, he volunteers for numerous organizations.
Kirk received his degree in health science and completed the Physicians Assistant program from Butler University. He is a member of American Academy of Physician Assistants, Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants, and Indiana Academy of Physician Assistants. He is married and has one child. His outside interests include spending time with family and travel.
Natalie received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Kentucky. She then attended Sullivan University in Louisville, KY to earn her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree. She is an active member of AAPA and KAPA. She enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor activities, sports and traveling.
Devan has been practicing as a Certified Physician Assistant since 2011. He received his Masters of Medical Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
